What is the “New Strength in Unity” Committee? In 2004, the New Strength in Unity Committee met in Pittsburgh, Cleveland/Toledo, Columbus and Detroit. They asked members across the Union for ideas on what Local 3's priorities should be, how to get more members involved and how the union can become stronger. They presented their findings to the members at a meeting in Cleveland in August of 2004. These findings were incorporated into the new constitution and bylaws.
