Local 3 MPOs Take the Lead on the 2006 Election

The 2006 elections are critically important to Local 3 members and their families.  We have Governor and Senate races in all three states.  The control of Congress will come down to a few key races in our states.  Local 3 members in all three states will be taking a leave from their jobs and work full time reaching out to members about the importance of the November 7 election.  Here are four of them:

Detroit

Hattie Holt, Detroit janitor and union member for 18 years.  “I enjoy talking to my neighbors about their concerns while educating them on candidates running for office who share those concerns.”

Nancy Alexander, Detroit janitor and union member for 13 years.  “Because of the times we are living in right now it is critical for people to realize that their vote does count.  Someone has to get elected and it should be someone who supports your issues.”

Pittsburgh

Mattie Fay Hines MPO

Mattie Fay Hines, Pittsburgh janitor and union member since 1981.  “I want to go out and meet a lot of our members and get our country back to where it should be.”

Cleveland

George Mynatt MPO

George Mynatt, Cleveland janitor and union member for years.  “Many Americans aren’t happy with the way things are being run right now.  This upcoming election could change all that so I want to do my best to get people out to vote!”
